This boots are simply incredible. They will make you feel more sure footed that you ever have in your entire life. I am a better hiker with them and can go farther longer. My feet don’t feel fatigued after a day in the field, I’m far less tired because of it and it keeps me in the game longer. The ankle support is unmatched. I have rolled an ankle every season my entire life. Non issue with my Beartooth’s. You will not be disappointed in these. I wore them one day before hitting the field and they were ready to rock. I can’t say enough good about them. If I love live long enough to wear them out, I’ll never buy anything else.
This is a sturdy, well-made boot that I expect to be quite durable and to last many years. It fits my feet well, which is no small feat (pun intended), as my feet are very short and very wide. It's hard to find good boots that fit my feet well, but these boots fill the bill. Thanks.
I have a high in step and slightly wide feet and have had trouble finding boots with enough room in the toe box. The Beartooth II in wide are the best fit I've ever found in a heavy hiking boot. They appear to be well made and are taking to the break-in process well. But best of all they have attained the unattainable...the laces stay tied. I'd recommend these boots to anyone.
not many miles on them yet, but can speak to initial fit and flex vs stiffness. nice and narrow/tight in the heel and midfoot; really interesting how well it locks the midfoot; have not experienced that in any mountain boots before. allows for more space/freedom in the toes and even the ball. most mountain boots are nearly too narrow in the ball area, but that's probably only necessary because they don't lock the heal and midfoot as well. flex is interesting. plenty stiff to resist twisting, basically the only bending it allows is the bend at the front of the ball as one pushes off. this is much appreciated on trails versus prior mountain boots that had no flexion in any direction, and the lack of flex on that step off can cause undue pressure the balls driving into the hard sole. Certainly won't be able to scramble over boulders and cliffy terrain with as much suredness as with a true mountain boot, but for most folks like myself who spend the vast majority of their miles on trail to and from camp, or working bulls on those timbered benches that they love so much, these seem like the perfect balance between a comfortable trail hiker and a supportive mountain boot.
These boots fit great right out of the box. After some miles with a pack they fit even better. Would definitely recommend these if you want a boot with good support and a firm sole but still be able to feel what your stepping on.
Boots are very comfortable and has great support. It can take a while to break in but I find it a good investment.
After spending 10 years in the service in far off lands in crappy boots, I had no idea boots could be this nice. Worth every penny and then some. After dealing with Schnee's customer service I am even more impressed with the company. Multiple employees wen out of their way to make sure I got the right boot for my needs. I will be buying more Beartooth ii's! Thanks Schnee's!
This is my second pair of Beartooth boots. They are the most comfortable boots I have worn. They support, even when packing out elk is excellent. I will continue to purchase Beartooth boots in the future.
