Caring For Your New Mountain Boots

We recommend using Nikwax on our Mountain Boots at least twice a year, prior to your hunting season and afterwards if you're going to store the boots until next year, and as needed throughout the year especially if you have been hunting in wet conditions.

Conditioner and Oils

We recommend using leather conditioner on our Mountain Boots after you've confirmed they fit and you're ready to begin breaking them in. We also suggest reapplying as needed throughout the lifetime of the boots as the leather begins to dry out and/or stiffen up.

Moisture is wicked quickly from the foot through the inner lining and into the hydrophilic intermediate layer. During strenuous physical activity the surplus moisture is buffered there and cannot get back into the inner lining due to the suction effect which is directed towards the outside. The moisture is transported to the hydrophilic membrane through an innovative intermediate layer. Once there, the moisture generates large scale activation of the hydrophilic membrane which speeds up the transmission of water vapour. This high activation (high moisture concentration on the membrane) also supports dynamic breathability.

High wearer comfort and dry feet for maximum performance in changing climatic conditions. Faster drying of the inner lining in extremely wet conditions and reduction in odour formation. The innovative technology proves its worth in particular during strenuous physical activity in the outdoors or at work. In firefighter boots Moisture-tech® is also the solution to unpleasant heat and moisture development in the boots and thus reduces the risk of blister formation on feet.

Best boot I’ve ever own. Worth the money, plus you can have them reworked if needed.

Purchased a pair of these for a WY archery elk hunt and couldn't be more pleased. Rough terrain, rocks and lots of time in a saddle. Boots were fantastic. Had I known how warm the 200s were I may have bought the 0. But no complaints

    Good boot

I've had these for about a year. I wear a size 8.5 US and have wide feet. I purchased the size 9 wide and they fit perfect with enough room for a good wool sock. I've put well over 200 miles in these hunting, hiking, and just everyday wear. I live and hunt in the PNW. It rains, and it rains, and it rains. These keep my feet dry most days. It takes a real wet day to soak through but my feet stay nice and warm. Like any boot, keep up on the waterproofing and they will treat you right. I've been waterproofing with Nikwax and might have to give the Schnees brand a try. These are hands down the most comfortable, durable hunting boot I've ever worn. The last thing I want on my mind is feet, and these keep it that way. Comfortable, warm, durable, all you can ask for in a hunting boot. My next boot purchase will definitely be from Schnees.

I've been in the outdoors and hunting all my life and always had boots on my feet. This was my first "real" boot purchase and wow, what a difference. The fit is amazing and I've always had trouble finding a comfortable boot for all day wear. Now I understand why it "costs a little more to go first class." Now I'm saving up for a pair of their pack boots!

I was queasy ordering boots on line without trying them on first. Seems like no two shoes run true to size. Maybe I just got lucky but.....they fit absolutely true. I put in two hikes for a total of 15 miles. No blisters, no pinching, and plenty of toe room. I'm elated. the rain has not come yet but I have no doubt these boots will handle it just fine. I live in the pacific northwest (Oregon) and I'm very happy with this purchase.

    Top of the food chain

I've bought and worn through a ton of boots. I spent 10 years in the army as an infantryman. I dont even want to know how many miles I've walked, in deserts, mountains, on roads, on trails, open country, etc etc... ive never bought a pair of boots and immediately after putting them on felt comfortable enough in the boot that I could ruck 12 miles. That was until I bought these. I may not have gone 12 but I absolutely went 6 the same day they showed up at my house. 90 degrees out, 45lb ruck (back country elk pack) about half on the road and half on a trail. I came home with comfortable feet, barely any sweat, no hot spots, no blisters, no sore ankles.... but most importantly no sore back and knees. Dont forget about your back and knees... you boots play a huge role in how your whole body handles the impact of a long trek. Ive worn these boots everyday since then for at least a couple hours. I still have the same opinion, these are the finest quality boot I've ever owned. Worth every nickel. Ill update this when I get back from Colorado but I can already tell there will be nothing but more great news.

Good, a lil pinching on top of toe joints when flexing

Posted by Peter Ryman on Jun 1st 2020

I am usually a size 12 wider foot, athletic and my feet swell pretty good so form fit and function matter a lot to me. I also have a unusual bony heal that has given me issues trying to find the right boot brand (Salomon Quest 4Ds Wide have fit the best for me, no insulation however). I tried these boots on and everything checked out for my feet, However when I attempted flexing the toe box it pinched my toe joints pretty good. I hope it goes away once I start breaking them in and wearing them on increasingly steep terrain and rougher conditions. \ RE: The pinch point where your toes flex is common for new boots, but goes away as the leather gets broken in. - Schnee's Team

These boots are true to size. They are very light weight and comfortable . I'm still in the break in stage. Worth the $ and your feet should thank you.
