When it comes to backcountry or mountain hunting one of the most integral and personal pieces of gear is a good pair of broken in boots. When people ask about gear for a backcountry hunt, I always stress the importance of boots because it is the touch point between you and the miles you cover. Good boots can make or break a trip. As a guide the number one thing I have seen cut a hunt short or slow a hunt down is foot problems, blisters, etc. from boots not broken in or bad footwear.
