Caring For Your New Mountain Boots

We recommend using Nikwax on our Mountain Boots at least twice a year, prior to your hunting season and afterwards if you're going to store the boots until next year, and as needed throughout the year especially if you have been hunting in wet conditions.

Conditioner and Oils

We recommend using leather conditioner on our Mountain Boots after you've confirmed they fit and you're ready to begin breaking them in. We also suggest reapplying as needed throughout the lifetime of the boots as the leather begins to dry out and/or stiffen up.

Moisture is wicked quickly from the foot through the inner lining and into the hydrophilic intermediate layer. During strenuous physical activity the surplus moisture is buffered there and cannot get back into the inner lining due to the suction effect which is directed towards the outside. The moisture is transported to the hydrophilic membrane through an innovative intermediate layer. Once there, the moisture generates large scale activation of the hydrophilic membrane which speeds up the transmission of water vapour. This high activation (high moisture concentration on the membrane) also supports dynamic breathability.

High wearer comfort and dry feet for maximum performance in changing climatic conditions. Faster drying of the inner lining in extremely wet conditions and reduction in odour formation. The innovative technology proves its worth in particular during strenuous physical activity in the outdoors or at work. In firefighter boots Moisture-tech® is also the solution to unpleasant heat and moisture development in the boots and thus reduces the risk of blister formation on feet.

    Obvious Quality and amazing comfort

Posted by Eric Herrera on Aug 5th 2020

It was difficult for me to choose a boot because I generally like a very light weight trail boot to hike in. However I knew I wanted a more versatile boot that I would feel more comfortable in off trail in the backcountry, or hiking in snow but didn’t want to feel like I was clunking around. When I received my Timberlines it was very obvious that they were A high quality boot and constructed very well. Once I put them on I was even more impressed, it felt like I had just stuck my feet into two orthopedic mattresses. For me the Timberlines didn’t even need breaking in they were that comfortable, and after 20 or so miles in my boots I can say they are great. Even though they are A little heavier than what I normally like the comfort and quality surpass that. Thanks Schnees !

    The best in the business

Wow, this is an amazing boot. I have put about 50 miles on the boot so far. Very fast break-in and very durable. I am very glad I learned of Schnees. It is now the only boot I will buy. Thank you for making such a great product.

    Perfect Fit.

These are by far the most expensive hiking boots I’ve owned but they have proven to be well worth it. I’ve clocked about 50 miles on them without issue. The First pair of hiking boots I’ve ever put on that didn’t give any type of discomfort. I will gladly recommend these boots.

I love the boot. However I would have ordered a 1/2 size larger if I were able to try on and wear outside before making the purchase. I will keep the smaller boot, but if I end up going out west for a serious trip, I will have to order a second pair in the larger size. Other than that, the boot broke in fast and is by far the best quality boot I have owned to date.

Amazing boots, even better customer service!

Posted by Joe on Mar 11th 2020

I have been researching various boot brands for months and finally decided to pull the trigger on a pair of these timberlines. What a waste of a few months...I should’ve bought these so much sooner! Overall these are incredible boots. Lightweight, durable and hardly any break in process. Also the fit couldn’t be better. If these hold up to the abuse I put my boots through I’ll be a Schnee’a customer for life. Also - customer service is top notch. Schnee’s team couldn’t have been more helpful when I was deciding between these timberlines and the Beartooth II’s. Thanks Schnee’s!

I’ve never owned a real nice pair of boots and I can’t believe I waited this long before I made the purchase. I do a lot of upland bird hunting, spot and stalk, and tree stand sitting in North Dakota so I wanted a boot that could cover everything. I went with the Timberlines and couldn’t be any happier. These preformed great right out of the box. I spent 4 hours in the rain walking through wet grass and muddy fields, hanging tree stands and at the end of the day my feet were dry. I then put 20 miles on in two days chasing pheasants and my feet never hurt and again stayed dry. Love these boots and can’t wait to use them for years to come. FYI I used Nikwax to treat the boots and it seemed to work great.
