Caring For Your New Mountain Boots
We recommend using Nikwax on our Mountain Boots at least twice a year, prior to your hunting season and afterwards if you're going to store the boots until next year, and as needed throughout the year especially if you have been hunting in wet conditions.
We recommend using leather conditioner on our Mountain Boots after you've confirmed they fit and you're ready to begin breaking them in. We also suggest reapplying as needed throughout the lifetime of the boots as the leather begins to dry out and/or stiffen up.

These are by far the most expensive hiking boots I’ve owned but they have proven to be well worth it. I’ve clocked about 50 miles on them without issue. The First pair of hiking boots I’ve ever put on that didn’t give any type of discomfort. I will gladly recommend these boots.
I love the boot. However I would have ordered a 1/2 size larger if I were able to try on and wear outside before making the purchase. I will keep the smaller boot, but if I end up going out west for a serious trip, I will have to order a second pair in the larger size. Other than that, the boot broke in fast and is by far the best quality boot I have owned to date.
I have been researching various boot brands for months and finally decided to pull the trigger on a pair of these timberlines. What a waste of a few months...I should’ve bought these so much sooner!
Overall these are incredible boots. Lightweight, durable and hardly any break in process. Also the fit couldn’t be better.
If these hold up to the abuse I put my boots through I’ll be a Schnee’a customer for life.
Also - customer service is top notch. Schnee’s team couldn’t have been more helpful when I was deciding between these timberlines and the Beartooth II’s.
I’ve never owned a real nice pair of boots and I can’t believe I waited this long before I made the purchase. I do a lot of upland bird hunting, spot and stalk, and tree stand sitting in North Dakota so I wanted a boot that could cover everything. I went with the Timberlines and couldn’t be any happier. These preformed great right out of the box. I spent 4 hours in the rain walking through wet grass and muddy fields, hanging tree stands and at the end of the day my feet were dry. I then put 20 miles on in two days chasing pheasants and my feet never hurt and again stayed dry. Love these boots and can’t wait to use them for years to come. FYI I used Nikwax to treat the boots and it seemed to work great.
Ordered these boots last week for 5 days of chasing sharp trail grouse around South Dakota. Zero break in time, many, many hours later I can honestly say these are the best boots I’ve ever worn. They performed wonderfully, and still look new.
I have been hiking and hunting for a long time and have tried on an awful lot of boots over the years. I now live in the unglaciated hills of Southern Ohio and needed a tough boot that can carry weight and hike timbered hills rather than exposed rock. I called Schnees to ask their advice and they steered me toward the Timberline. Seemed a bit stiff out of the box but after Schnees leather conditioner treatment and a few days of wearing them to work an to a few 3d archery shoots I loaded the pack with 60 lbs and went for a savage hill hike. The few days of wearing them to work softened them right up to fit my rather large high volume foot very comfortably but the boot maintains just the right amount of rigidity to carry weight and keep me supported. I did a lot of side hilling and down hilling in them wiht 60 lbs in my pack and hiked for about 8 miles and my foot stayed put and comfy. No blisters, no hot spots...no anything but a high quality ride from a high quality boot. If you are on the fence...pull the trigger you will be rewarded with one of the best boots you will ever own!!!
I love these boots! Only had one day to break them in before two days of serious hiking. They performed perfectly with the greatest balance between flexibility and stable support. The quality of the build is impeccable. I highly recommend these boots and keep up the good work!
Typically, I would not do something as stupid as wearing a pair of boots for the first time during a hunt. Well, It came down to the fourth day of having soaked feet while wearing other boots and I had these brand-spankin' new Schnee's Timberline boots staring at me... I laced them up and hoped for the best. Well, the best is exactly what I got. I hiked 8miles on day one in the Timberline boots and my feet felt great! The second day they felt even better. I was absolutely shocked that a boot could withstand the abuse I dished out in the conditions I put them through and not once did my feet get wet, sore or debilitated as they most certainly would have in another boot. I wish I had taken the time to treat the leather prior to getting them wet but now that I am home from my hunt I have done so and I honestly think that with wearing them for a few days before treating them with waterproofing/leather treatment helped allow the treatment to soak in better. This is my opinion and I am unsure if it was the correct thing to do but alas, they are now even more ready for extreme wet conditions and rugged terrain. Thank you Schnee's for hooking me up with a great set of boots and I can't wait to put even more miles on them.
I received my boots and gave them a good leather treatment, than started wearing them out camping ,hiking and have been breaking them in, there is very little discomfort to break them in. They fit perfect right out of the box. I have been hiking up and down our local ski hill training for sheep season and they are perfect!! Perform better than expected and at the end of the day my feet are not sore or swollen. I highly recommend these boots!!
