    Kestrel Boot

Posted by Tony Martinez on Sep 23rd 2020

This boot was a game-changer for me. I've used Asolo, Scarpa, Hoka, Danner in the past and I feel like I've finally found the perfect all-around boot. I've beat these up for the past month in a variety of terrains and conditions. The Kestrel is heavier than what I was using previously for warmer weather (Asolo Falcon) but the extra weight is beyond worth it. Comfort out of the box? Check. No blisters, hot spots, pinches? Check, check, check. The boot is durable, dry, and so comfortable that I've been wearing them as my all day, everyday boot. The Kestrel offers great ankle support/protection. It has handled day hikes, multi-day backpacking, and scrambles with ease. Fit is true to size, toe box has enough room for foot expansion and heel locks nice and tight. I bought these online after the Asolo broke down and my right foot was killing me. I'm converted to the Schnee's brand and I'll happily pay for an indestructible, overbuilt, comfortable as hell boot. I'm planning to purchase an insulated winter boot from Schnee's based on the Kestrel's performance. Well worth the investment.

    Kestrel Boots

I plan on using these for the wildland fire season. They have been easy to break in and wonderful to wear all day.

    Kestrel

These boots fit great right out of the box. I received them two days before the Missouri spring turkey season. Over the course of a week I abused the boots. Miles of walking up and down hollers, across rocky ridges, through creeks and wet fields. The boots were constantly wet the entire week and my feet stayed comfortable and dry. Only time will tell how durable they are but I’m completely satisfied!
