Product Overview
A New Benchmark for Fast and Light
When the miles are long and the heat is relentless, our Kestrel boot keeps you running and gunning with its fast and light construction. Built for early season hunters who demand serious gear without unnecessary weight, the Kestrel is ideal for warm weather archery seasons, prairies, rolling hills, and high-mileage backcountry pursuits where breathability and mobility matter most.
At its core, the Kestrel is crafted from mountain proven 2.8mm top-grain rough-out leather and an ultrabreathable Schoeller™ stretch fabric trim giving you a combination that keeps the air flowing without sacrificing durability in demanding terrain. This makes it one of the most breathable hunting boots in our entire lineup, ideal for warm climates and early season hunts.
Underfoot, the Kestrel features our pLite™ polyurethane midsole, delivering lightweight shock absorption, long-term support, and reduced foot fatigue even after long days on the trail. Paired with the Vibram™ Circuma™ outsole, this boot grips confidently over mixed ground, from dry prairies to broken hillsides.
The Flex-1 chassis offers a more agile, athletic feel than heavier mountain hunting boots, without compromising critical support for side-hilling or uneven ground. A 100% waterproof Sympatex™ membrane ensures reliable protection when crossing creeks, morning dew, or unexpected downpours.
Handcrafted in the Schnee production facility in the foothills of the Dolomites in the Italian Alps with the same attention to detail and quality materials as our flagship mountain boots, the Kestrel is designed for the serious hunter who moves fast, covers ground, and hunts smart — even when the temperatures climb.

Looking for More Options?
Need more support for steeper terrain and side hilling? Take a look at the Beartooth Family of mountain boots with a more rigid sole that provides a sturdier base for more technical hunts and heavier pack outs.
Are you after something that’s still fast and light, but slightly more sturdy and supportive? Check out our Timberline boot: Inspired by our legendary Beartooth boot, the Timberline maintains many of its core features but dials back the rigidity for a smoother, more flexible ride.
Want a stiffer, more robust boot for heavy pack outs above the treeline in sheep and goat country? Shop our Granite family mountain boots, available in 0g, 200g, and 600g of insulation.
Caring For Your New Mountain Boots
We recommend using Nikwax on our Mountain Boots at least twice a year, prior to your hunting season and afterwards if you're going to store the boots until next year, and as needed throughout the year especially if you have been hunting in wet conditions.

The Timberline runs true to size when measured using a Brannock foot measuring device. If you're unsure about your size or want additional tips for the perfect fit, check out our Boot Fitting Guide for a step-by-step breakdown or feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
