Nikwax

We recommend using Nikwax on our Mountain Boots at least twice a year, prior to your hunting season and afterwards if you're going to store the boots until next year, and as needed throughout the year especially if you have been hunting in wet conditions.

Namesake:

Bitterroot Valley: Located in western Montana, the Bitterroot Valley is a picturesque and fertile valley between the Bitterroot Range to the west and the Sapphire Mountains to the east. It is known for its scenic beauty, agricultural activities, and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Bitterroot Mountains: Part of the Rocky Mountains, the Bitterroot Mountains extend along the border between Montana and Idaho. These mountains are characterized by rugged terrain, alpine lakes, and diverse flora and fauna. They offer opportunities for hiking, backpacking, and other outdoor adventures.

Bitterroot River: The Bitterroot River flows through the Bitterroot Valley, providing water resources and recreational opportunities. It is a popular destination for fly fishing, with various trout species inhabiting its waters.

The name "Bitterroot" itself is derived from a plant called Lewisia rediviva, known as the bitterroot. This plant has cultural significance to indigenous peoples and is the state flower of Montana. The Bitterroot Valley and its surroundings are rich in natural beauty, making it a popular destination for both residents and visitors.
