Our original Beartooth boots have developed a cult-like following. Some people refuse to hunt or hike in anything else. We developed our NEW Beartooth Classic in honor of our Original Beartooth, and specifically for those customers who long for a traditional leather-lined alpine and trekking boot. Leather lined boots are something of a throwback to more traditional boot-crafting. Many of our customers have asked us if we might consider making a version of the Beartooth with leather lining. With the introduction of our new Beartooth Classic, we are pleased to comply. As with all of the second generation of our alpine boots, we built our new Beartooth Classic with upgraded midsole technology using our Dual Density PU midsole, offering greater stability, comfort and durability. New roller bearing hardware makes lace-ups consistent and easy. Why do some experienced mountain people prefer leather lined boots? For an early season hiker, leather lining is an excellent wicking agent and helps to keep your socks and feet dry in warm climates. We recommend our Beartooth Classic as an early season traditional hiker, best used in drier climates.

Bought these boots after a lot of research to mountain boots. I was looking for a do it all type boot. I’ve had these boots now for 4 months and have put around 100 kms on them. Can’t say enough. I wear them day to day for my career in law enforcement, as well as when I’m in the mountains hunting. I have very wide feet and bought the wide width and the break in period was a dream. Worth the buy!
This is the most comfortable boot I have ever owned. I have never had a leather lined boot before and was skeptical about increased breathability. I’ve been hiking short distances in them for the past month and I’m a believer . This is also the first boot I have used without a waterproof membrane and haven’t had a chance to test this wet conditions yet. If Nikwax is able to keep the leather dry enough to make it through my 2 week elk hunt, I will never hike in anything else again.
