Caring For Your New Mountain Boots

Nikwax

We recommend using Nikwax on our Mountain Boots at least twice a year, prior to your hunting season and afterwards if you're going to store the boots until next year, and as needed throughout the year especially if you have been hunting in wet conditions.

Conditioner and Oils

We recommend using leather conditioner on our Mountain Boots after you've confirmed they fit and you're ready to begin breaking them in. We also suggest reapplying as needed throughout the lifetime of the boots as the leather begins to dry out and/or stiffen up.

HOW IT WORKS

Moisture is wicked quickly from the foot through the inner lining and into the hydrophilic intermediate layer. During strenuous physical activity the surplus moisture is buffered there and cannot get back into the inner lining due to the suction effect which is directed towards the outside. The moisture is transported to the hydrophilic membrane through an innovative intermediate layer. Once there, the moisture generates large scale activation of the hydrophilic membrane which speeds up the transmission of water vapour. This high activation (high moisture concentration on the membrane) also supports dynamic breathability.

THE BENEFIT

High wearer comfort and dry feet for maximum performance in changing climatic conditions. Faster drying of the inner lining in extremely wet conditions and reduction in odour formation. The innovative technology proves its worth in particular during strenuous physical activity in the outdoors or at work. In firefighter boots Moisture-tech® is also the solution to unpleasant heat and moisture development in the boots and thus reduces the risk of blister formation on feet.

    Worth the Money

Bought these prior to a six day elk hunt in MT. They were warm and comfortable all day on some good hikes up and down some very steep terrain. I would recommend these to anyone.

    Amazing

I cant reccomended them enough, i didnt get a chance to break them in properly but 30 KMs a day and they held up and were comfortable the entire time. I used to buy cheap work boots, now i just cant do it after wearing these boots. I will always come back, just hoping in the future they have a Canadian distributor because with the exchange and customs they ran me $600. Worth it.

    Beartooth II

Could not be more impressed with this boot! After years of wearing more mainstream boots I decided to make the leap into a new boot. Wasn't able to break these boots in prior to my 10 day elk hunt except for some casual walking around the yard. Never once did i have foot pain or even the slightest sign of a blister. From 10 mile hikes in 70 degrees to a massive temperature drop into the low teens with seveal inches of snow these boots performed! Breathable waterproof and durable! Lifelong schnees customer here!

    Amazing boot

Been waiting for over a year and a half to purchase my first pair of Schnees boots per the recommendation of the Meateater crew. I’m from Albuquerque, NM and over the summer I had the privilege to go to Montana on my girlfriends families annual trip to their cabin where we fly fished nonstop. I made a point to drive a couple hours to Bozeman to get fitted for my future pair of Schnees Beartooth II’s. What a great experience it was, and 6 months go by and I decided it was time to make the investment. These boots are the best you could buy, no doubt. I’m 215lbs and with a loaded pack, I put a good amount of weight on each boot, and have warn down many “decent” pairs of boots. These boots don’t break a sweat!

    Schnee’s Beartooth II

These are definitely a high quality boot! They didn’t take long at all to break in. They really hug my foot and ankle for a solid feel for rough terrain. The soles grip everything you put them on which is a plus. If I could change anything about this boot it would be the insole it feels a little hard compared to other boots I’ve worn. The only other suggestion I would give you is go up at least a half size or if you plan on using thick socks better go a full size. I went a half size bigger and they feel comfortable with regular socks. All in all a great boot and awesome quality!
